Cafe → Lowercase

Lowercase
(located at Laselle, College of the Arts)

Address: 1 McNally Road,
Block D #01-01
Singapore, 187940
Operating Hours: Monday - Thursday 0900 - 2130
Friday 0900 - 2230
Saturday 1100 - 2230

Is a cafe-bar where people, food & art come together. Offering western, Asian fusion, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, juices, desserts & beers. I love the ambience - tall glass panels let in natural light, high ceilings made the space feel open and relaxing, dual floors segmented the spaces for smaller and larger groups, long tables for larger groups and collaborative activities.

Dishes that we ordered were recommended as the popular ones by Lowercase.

Salmon Salad
healthy choice - generous chunks of salmon and lots of fresh leaves

 Mushroom Truffles Pizza
love the thin crispy crust with truffle oil drizzled over

Prawn Aglio Olio
The pasta is so al dente. Lowercase had put a dash of spice using chilli padi and made this so appetizing. I added a few drops of tabasco and made it even more awesome !

Dessert

Chocolate Pecan Cake with English Breakfast Tea
Lowercase recommended their signature choc pecan ! It was heavenly yummy. Covered with frosting chocolate and roasted pecans, the mild sweetness paired so well with the tea. This is a happy ending for our entire meal.

The cost of our 3 dishes - pasta, pizza and salad and our two fruit juices came to $42. I thought this was very reasonably priced for the quality and ambience offered.

Suntec City Outlet

Banh Mi Bar

Ambience
I love the play of colors - reddish pink lanterns and greenish / wood deco.
Self Service
(Patrons queue up and the usher assigns a table number to your order form. Order & payment are taken at the counter after patrons submit their forms.)

Various Sauces for Pho
I love the Viet chilli sauce (the bottle at the extreme left hand side)

Beverages
Vietnamese coffee: Served in mini nostalgic enamel cup. Frothy and has an awesome aroma.
Lotus Tea: Hmmm ~~~ there is light hint of lotus.
Lime Soda: Taste like 7-up topped with soda water. A little 'gassy' but I like it.

Snacks
Fresh southern rolls with sweet shrimps, eggs and fresh herbs. Is absolutely gorgeous when paired with the peanut sauce. Coating your viet rolls with a generous serving of the sauce certainly brings out the flavour.

Dry Sautéed Lemongrass Pork Noodles
Dry Sautéed Lemongrass Pork Noodles with fresh herbs, bean sprout and peanuts.
If u want something dry and also with strong lemongrass flavour, I suggest the dry sautéed lemongrass pork noodle. The sweet and salty combination is awesome. The crunch of bean sprouts, cabbage & chopped peanuts releases some really fresh flavours.

You can order an "add on soup" to your dry noodle dishes that will really complement any Viet meal !

Dry Yellow Curry Duck Noodle
This is bee hoon served in a dry curry together with bamboo shoots. It is quite mild, not too spicy ! Duck lovers can try this !

Hanoi Pho
Pho Chicken

Pho Beef Steak Slices
The broth looks clear but the taste is pretty addictive ! I saw the chef sneak in a little piece of bacon into the mix. No wonder it tastes so good.

I love the generous servings of spring onions which makes the soup such a memorable experience.

Desserts
Deep fried banana served with warm coconut sauce (topped with sesame)
Hot and crispy on the outside and soft / piping hot on the inside. Best paired with the accompanying coconut sauce.

Enjoy! Bon Appétit

Bistro Dining Area (is located at the end of the corridor)

Ordering time
Such a cute set of coasters for the cafe's patrons.

The little girl mascot on the coaster is Danielle, she's very cheerful, loves to draw and colour and naturally her favourite food is chocolate chocolate chocolate. She also loves to hang out with her 2 dogs - OO and Yu Fa.

The little french bulldog on the cartoon is OO - full of energy, curiosity and mischief.

 Drink - Frozen Hot Chocolate
This awesome drink definitely should not be on the drink menu - it should appear under the dessert menu, hahaha !
It's a thick chocolate drink topped by an Everest of whipped cream. I climbed up the southern face and my friend scaled the northern heights.

Starter - Classic French Onion Soup
Sweet caramelized onions topped with baked parmesan cheese. The broth is a tasty rich veal like soup, amidst a generous serving of onions. Now how did the chef know I love love love onions ?

Entreés - Handmade Pacific Crab cake
Deep fried crab meat seasoning with pepper, served with a lemon butter sauce and mashed potatoes. I like that sourish tangy taste that makes it so appetizing.

Burgers & Sandwich - Mega Club

A double-decker club sandwich with pork ham, bacon, omelette eggs, portobello mushrooms, deep fried crispy tender chicken, swiss cheese with honey mustard mayo spread on bread. The mother-of-all sandwiches !

All my favourites under one roof >,<
