OOTD → Beige Earthy Color Feminine Look

A short OOTD post of photos taken around Keong Saik Road. Is a one-way road located in the Chinatown area.

Normally my wardrobe is black or white. I hardly wear this kind of girly look & seldom wear similar tone colors for top and bottoms.

Food → Oyster Bar

The Oyster Bar
70 Collyer Quay
01-01 Customs House
Singapore 049323
(next to Fullerton Bay Hotel)

Operating Hours:
Thursday 1100hrs - 0100hrs
Friday 1100hrs - 0200hrs
Saturday 1100hrs - 0000hrs
** Public Holiday eve: till 0200hrs

It is a fine European seafood bar serving oysters, seafood & liquor (champagne, wines, beers, spirits).

We were there at about 9pm and it was not crowded nor noisy. Oyster Bar has a great view of the Marina Bay front. If you do come, the best time for photography is around 6pm, where dusk starts to set in, and lighting changes the color of the whole area from 6 to 730pm giving you a variety of colors. Select your seats and bar stools facing the bay front - so if you do take photos, you get to use a pretty scenic backdrop.

Menu

The Marina Bay backdrop
A sea-shell chandelier !

Oysters wrapped in bacon and then baked to perfection. For those who don't eat raw oysters - this is the dish for you. The bacon's juices mix with the oysters. It feels is more bacon flavoured & is without a fishy after taste.

We waited a long time to savour this lobster pot pie !!!

The pot pie was served with this tiny buttery dough/bread.

It was piping hot ! Rich ! OMG - delicious !!! Definitely worth the wait.

After dinner, a stroll around the Marina and Fullerton districts.

Dinner Date → Bistro Soori

Bistro Soori
2 Teck Lim Road
Singapore 088305

Operating Hours:
Monday to Friday → Lunch 1130hrs-1430hrs
→ Dinner 1830hrs - 2200hrs
SaturdayDinner 1830hrs - 2200hrs
SundayBrunch 1100hrs - 1500hrs

Bistro Soori is a cosy and peaceful restaurant - elegantly styled with nice white and dark contrasting furnishings. The service is awesome and their people are so friendly.

Is a perfect *happy* date tonite ! I personally prefer the corner seat and was delighted with the smart & friendly staff who gave us the corner right at the back end of the restaurant where we get to steal out to the courtyard.

Really salute the staff working here. They are all "one-leg-kick". A single person was frontend staff with duties such as order taking, food serving, refilling water, etc.

Just wanna compliment our server (this taller, friendly guy walking toward us in the 1st photo). He was very patient in explaining our menu, had good knowledge of the dishes & provided us with lots of details. Not an easy job, but he had an excellent memory and was able to provide great guest service despite the number of patrons. Good  job !

A unique back end corner behind the restaurant. It's like a cul-de-sac of the end of the service alley, but was so well decorated, it felt like a meditation corner where one could chill out.
The view from the outside "meditation corner". I look like a little girl ^^ hehehe. I'm in very happy mood tonite.

Super duper happy right now. Usually I will just do a see see & look look when it comes to the menu AND let the guy decide. I just focus on EATING ! hehehehe

Today we chose a 5 course meal for 1 pax & order an additional 1 starter + 1 main course
For 5 course meal - this  includes 3 starters + 1 main course + 1 dessert (all randomly chosen by the chef. You won't know what you will get until the food comes. *SURPRISE*)

Appetizer - bread with herb butter

Starter → Tarragon Dijon, Duck Rillette, Gherkin & Baked Baguette
(rillettes are a preparation of meat similar to pâté - originally made with pork, people have used the method on other meats - in this case the duck is cubed or chopped, salted heavily and cooked slowly in fat until it is tender enough to be easily shredded, and then cooled with enough of the fat to form a paste)
This one is fatty pkus the crunchiness of gherkin + dijon sauces go so well with the baguette.

Pan grilled scallop served with Mango puree & Mango salsa
I loooove scallop a lot! Usually, I don't eat mango. But surprisingly this rendition of mango pairs so well with my scallops. I am deeply *satisfied*.

Slow Roasted Pork Belly & Pumpkin with Yuzu Gastrique

(** Gastrique: a thick sauce by caramelizing sugar or vinegar or wine, usually referring to any "fruity-flavour sauces". It is normally served over with meat or seafood).
Tastes so Asian/Chinese style ! A bit like char siew/shao-rou. The fatiness of the pork is just right ! Won't make me feel sinful, is not so greasy ! Super yummy.

 Lobster Sweet Corn Pudding
Fresh meat taste sweet & fresh. The green chili is unlike the ones you would find in a hawker center, which I really don't like that overwhelmingly sourish taste. This dish is really surprised me, the little chili heat + a little bit pungent taste was just soothing. The mashed sweet corn is sweet & still preserves the texture of the corn and doesn't feel like baby food. *Marvelous*

Main Course - Beef for him & Fish for me

Prime Ribeye, Potato puree, Heirloom carrots with Red Wine Reduction
The beef was awesomely tender and soft.

My fish of the day - braised radish & mushrooms, topped with Tobiko.
I love the mushroom texture + crispy skin of the fish. The broth is sweet, very flavorful. Love the whole combination of the dish. *Perfect*

Dessert
Vanilla Panna Cotta
My bf finished 2/3 of it ! I only ate 1/3 *cry* !
Even guys love it, it is too nice. The cherries are really a big big big surprise for me. An alcoholic flavor oozed from berries and that was such a memorable taste. lalalalala !

Happy dinner, Happy date, Happy couple !
