Pairing Your Dr. Martens With 4 Styles of Unusual Socks

Fans of Dr. Marten shoes are always searching for some novelty and unusual socks to pair with their beloved shoes.

1. Enchanted Lace Over The Knee (Phantom Black)

These wonderful knee length socks are so sweet. You fold the laces over the knees and they look really adorable.

These ruffle socks are pretty unusual. I love how their ruffle edges are accented into a contrasting color. They come as a pack of three colors: grey, white and black, making them so friendly to match to Dr.M shoes.

3. Total Helmsman Length Socks from NEY

These thick netted socks are so adorable and hard to find. They come in 4 colors - Lilac, Yellow, Black and White. I've been wearing them for quite abit with my Dr.M Mary Janes and they are so comfortable.

These are purchased through the Rakuten online store: vision-passion(家電雑貨販売のVISION). You will also need a parcel service provider such as Vpost Japan or Tenso as Vision Passion does not ship internationally.

4. Girly Socks from NEY

A year ago, I did my first eyelash extension at Espoir in Shibuya. My experience at Espoir was really good. I instantly fell in love with how convenient it was to have extensions. I can sleep, bathe, do everything with them on and there isn't a need for mascara.

Finally, I found an authentic Japanese eyelash & nail salon in Singapore ! I was also super lucky to get a slot on Thursday because Thursday is the day that Nao Go-san (the director of Graceous) does the lashes ! Nao-san is really skillful and careful making my extensions. I felt so comfortable and relaxed letting her do my lashes. Nao-san is so very patient and kind. The service at Graceous is so good.

Graceous has a very cozy homely feel, very soothing and relaxing. I get to listen to nice indie/lounge background music while my lashes are being extended.

Consultation Time

Nao-san does the basics of quizzing me on general questions related to my physical health condition.

Next - Nao-san studies my natural lashes in detail. She gets me to pan my eyes from up to down - following the motion of her hand, in order for her to assess the shape and nature of my lashes. She also asks about my daily makeup routine and suggests the most suitable style for me.

Thirdly: I get to choose the lashes based on my personal preference - there are a few areas to consider: Style, Curl, Length:

Upper Lashes

Style
- Gorgeous (unlimited lashes)
- Natural (80 lashes)
- Quick (60 lashes)

I told Nao-san I wanted something wild & wow ! So we both agreed to choose the Gorgeous style. Nao-san also mentioned that for the lashes at the far left and right ends of the eyes, these lashes are longer and fan out - so the effect makes the lashes very visible.

Curl
→ J Curl
→ C Curl
→ L Curl
→ SC Curl (which is not in the menu list)

Nao-san suggested the SC curl which is more curly & sexier than the C curl ! Yes - I chose the SC curl !

Length
8mm-13mm

Lower Lashes
20 or 30 or 40 or 50 lashes

I'm thrilled that Graceous does lower lashes extensions too. I decided to experiment with 20 lashes first. The result turned out so good - I will certainly do more lower lashes next time !

Nao Go-san is so knowledgeable and helpful. She is very skillful. The treatment is absolutely painless. When starting on the lower lash extension, there was a slight irritation, but that went away very quickly and my eyes got used to it. Through out the appointment, there wasn't any smell of glue or chemicals.
Nao-san also gave me a guide on how to look after my eye lashes. Get your copy from her when u do your extensions at Graceous.

I really love the final result ! The lashes can last for 2 to 4 weeks and you can touch up at Graceous to maintain it.

Looks so natural...

hahaha ! I just can't stop admiring my lashes!

If you are in search of some authentic yummy American diner food - then Little Diner is the place to be. Chef Michael Quinn is the executive chef - and is originally from Ireland and then lived in New York City for 12 years, so the food here is a fusion of Irish and American tastes. Little Diner also has a pretty good range of premium beers, ciders, wines and spirits. The service here is really good.

The interior is minimalist with grey cemented walls - notched trowelled deep groove cladding.

Lots of menu boards with daily specials and desserts. So sad they didn't offer the famous red velvet pancakes today )': But we shall return on a weekend to savour these !

Starter

Lafayette Crab Cakes
Light and fluffy Golden Crab Cake Pillows accompanied by an orange pinkish sauce called Chipotle Aioli. The crab cakes themselves were very good but try coating it with the Chipotle sauce, it just makes it taste so much better. Chipotle means "smoked chili" and is a smoke-dried jalapeño.

Main Courses

Roast Beef Sammie
Is a hand carved roast prime rib, topped with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions in a toasted Ciabatta bread with hand cut fries on the side. The handcut fries are prepared fresh daily, free from preservatives and never frozen so they look darker than your regular MacDonald fries.

I love the Roast Beef sandwich. Is soft and juicy. The staff were so generous to give us an additional serving of smoked Chipotle sauce so - buttering the sammie with delicious chipotle made my day. If you ever come here, ask for more Chipotle sauce hahahah.

Version 2.0 Baked Mac & Cheese Royale

This is a huge serving of Mac & Cheese with Trufﬂe Oil, Wild Enoki (Chinese jin zhen gu) and Shimeji Mushrooms. Baked to perfection, browned and crispy on the top, it's full of yummy cheese and generous servings of mushrooms and less of the pasta (which is the way we like it). Loved the burnt taste of browned cheese and soft mushrooms.

The servings at Little Diner are large and really worth the $ spent. I wanted to try their desserts but I couldn't eat anymore.

This Little Diner is Big Big on our "to return again list".

Is a great place for anyone who wants to do photo shoots. Natural and untouched beauty - paddocks, whitewashed trail fences, lots of little hills, old aged trees, acres of lush greenery and a tropical forest background for your selfie. [You can even hire a horse for your photoshoot but this will set u back $300]
